No homework this week because you should be studying for the test!
For homework, please answer the following question online:
What would happen if Seisen Women's University started accepting male students?
Be careful of your grammar! We have studied this grammar before. Your answer should be 150+ words long, and you must respond to at least two of your classmates' posts.
This week we watched (part of) an episode of the Simpsons in which the family travels to Tokyo. For homework this week, please answer the following question(s) online (150+ words):
What did you think of the video we watched? What was accurate and what was inaccurate? What images and stereotypes of Japan do you think foreigners have before they come here? If you had one day to introduce a foreign friend to Tokyo, what would you do with them?
Please respond to at least two of your classmates' posts. Your responses should total 50+ words.
Announcement regarding homework:
You should notice that this week I have asked students to write 150+ words (instead of 100) for homework. This is not a "penalty". I simply do not think you can adequately answer this week's questions by only writing 100 words. In addition, I am asking that your response to your classmates total 50 words. This is because I want you to carefully read and consider what your classmates have written.
For homework, please listen to the Real World listening exercise again (it's on the CD at the back of your textbook) and answer this question online:
What kind of decision maker are you? Please analyze your own decision making processes using what you have learned in the textbook.
Your answer should be 100+ words long, and you should comment on at least two of your classmates' posts.
This week our listening exercises involved people talking about unusual members of their family. For homework, please answer this question online:
Who is the most unusual member of your family (or relative)?
Your answer must be 100+ words long and you should respond to two of your classmates' posts.
Also... online please write two sentences (your own ideas) using this vocabulary from this week's lesson. You may choose which words you use:
devoted, extreme, fanatic, freak out, irritating, nuts (crazy), vegan
Homework #1 (hand-in): Look at the script again, and choose 7 new vocabulary items (words or expressions). On a sheet of A4 paper, type a sentence for each new vocabulary item.
Homework #2 (online): Watch the video again. What do you think is the speaker's main point? Do you agree or disagree with him? Answer online by clicking the comment link below. This homework should be 100+ words long. As usual, please respond to two of your classmates' posts.
For homework, please go to the Internet listening quiz that is linked below. Do the two quizzes (vocabulary quiz and comprehension quiz), then print your results and bring them to our next lesson. See you then!
Also, please answer the following question online:
Who do you usually ask for advice? What kind of advice do you usually need?
Your answer should be 80+ words long and you should respond to at least two of your classmates' posts. And please download this handout for next lesson!
